Who is Leading this Project? FHWA is the lead agency responsible for implementing NEPA and will make the final decisions for the Draft PEIS and issue the Record of Decision (ROD). CDOT is leading the PEIS effort and will oversee the day-to-day work activities. CDOT has contracted with a Colorado firm, J.F. Sato and Associates, to prepare the PEIS document and assist with public involvement. Cooperating agencies are: Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), US Forest Service - White River National Forest (NF), Arapaho/Roosevelt NF US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Federal Transit Administration (FTA). In addition, FHWA and CDOT will coordinate closely with: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other federal, state, and local agencies. The remaining key participant in the project is you, the public. Thank you for taking an interest in improving travel along the I-70 Mountain corridor.
