| Public scoping was the first step in initiating the I-70 PEIS NEPA process. The purpose of public scoping was to inform the public and agencies about the PEIS and to solicit input on issues and perspectives on alternatives. Scoping, which was conducted from January to June 2000, captured the issues and provided the framework for the scope of analyses.
Solicitation of public and agency input has been ongoing following scoping. Identified issues have been tracked through to the PEIS, with Volume I of the Draft PEIS documenting assumptions for both analysis and alternatives. In addition, Chapter 6 provided a summary of the scoping process. Volume II of the Draft PEIS provided the supporting information for those assumptions, with Appendix A documenting the environmental analysis, Appendix B documenting the transportation analysis, and Appendix D addressing the ridership survey assumptions.
